Italian Baja 2019, entries open today

By carlo 0

Great news for the World Cup race along the riverbeds –

The official countdown starts today for the date of June 21st-23rd: Italian Baja’s entries open today and will be closed at midnight on Thursday, June 6th. Who knows, which Team will be the first one to send its schedule to the secretary of the Fuoristrada Club 4×4 Pordenone. This virtual challenge was usually won by Paolo Mora, who often demonstrated to be the quickest in following the online procedure. Then during the race the driver from Parma, as well as all other National drivers, always had to give way to foreign competitors, undisputable dominators except in 2000, when Franco Germanetti succeeded in winning the race driving a Nissan Patrol beating the Argentine Luis Perez and the French Jean Pierre Strugo. A long wait characterizes the 2019 edition of the Italian Baja, as after the Northern Forest challenge disputed in Russia in February and the Dubai International faced in March, the Fia calendar does not consider other races for the new Bajas World Cup before the challenge along the Meduna, Cosa and Tagliamento riverbeds, which will be followed by the remaining five races, disputed in four months. A forced break suffered by many pilots, among them someone like the “Tzar” Boris Gadasin, who has been waiting for the Pordenone start to put himself on the line and try to finally get the poker of victories. “What will be will be – philosophizes Mauro Tavella – we are working to realize another unforgettable edition. Last tow seasons got the highest evaluation among Fia Cross Country Rally races and we really wish to once more make a good impression. This year dedication is represented by the formula “all in 72 hours”, through an Italian Baja offering an over 400 km track faced also on the left bank of the Tagliamento river, able to also promote a wide Land, including a parade in Lignano Pineta and Brugnera, the Head Quarter kept by the Pordenone Fair and the presentation hosted at the GranFiume Shopping Centre”.
