NOVITA’ E SORPRESE NELLA CLASSIFICA TRICOLORE DOPO IL SARDEGNA

03 June 2026

SSVs lead with Trivini Bellini ahead of Cisella and Castagnera.

Bordonaro (T1) holds the lead in the classic off-road categories along with Gazzetta (TH) and Morra (T2). The triple-coefficient Italian Baja will shake things up.

June 3, 2026_ The numbers don't lie; in fact, they generally speak for themselves. The updated standings of the Italian Cross Country Championship after the Sardegna Rally Raid (May 15-17) confirm the SSVs' (Groups T3 and T4) leadership over the classic off-road categories (T1, T2, TH), which had already emerged at the Italian Spring Baja - Artugna Race (March 13-14). Alessandro Trivini Bellini (Can Am Maverick X3, T4) now sits at the top of the overall standings with a total of 144 points, capitalizing on his victory in Olbia, which was worth double the coefficient. He is followed by Martin Alejandro Cisella (also Can Am T4) with 128, closely followed by Andrea Castagnera (Can Am Maverick X3, T3) with 123. Alfio Bordonaro (Suzuki Grand Vitara, T1) achieved a tenacious fourth place with 116 points, while Andrea Tomasini, winner of the Artugna, slipped to fifth overall with 100 points, having finished eighth in Sardinia.

The events in the forests in the north of the island, between Parco di Coiluna, Fiorentini, and Monte Acuto, repeatedly disrupted the race. Among those who remained focused and managed to maintain the efficiency of their vehicle, a special mention goes to Alberto Gazzetta (Suzuki Jimny, TH), who finished seventh overall and is now sixth in the overall standings with 93 points, one more than Gianluca Morra (Suzuki Grand Vitara, T2). The final three spots in the provisional championship top ten are occupied by Stefano Moro (Mitsubishi Pajero, TH) with 74 points, ahead of Kevin Manocchi (Yamaha Yxz, T4) with 73 and Andrea Schiumarini with 72, the only one to have switched vehicles between Artugna (Century Gothic, T1) and Sardegna (Mitsubishi L200, T1). Given that overall scores are the result of the sum of the race score (first place earns 30 points) and the Group score (first place earns 25 points) plus 1 point for mere participation, multiplied by the race coefficient, so Trivini Bellini in Sardinia earned 112 points (30 + 25 + 1 = 56 x 2). Group rankings, on the other hand, are the result of the sum of the race score (first place earns 30 points) plus 1 point for mere participation, multiplied by the race coefficient, so Trivini Bellini earned 62 points (30 + 1 = 31 x 2) in Group T4.

This is the situation for the ACI Sport Italian Trophies after the first two stages of the 2026 CI2C. Group T1: 1. Bordonaro, 83; 2. Schiumarini, 70; 3. Codecà, 33. Group T2: 1. Morra, 88; 2. Acajou, 66; 3. Da Rin Spaletta, 33. Group T3: 1. Castagnera, 88; 2. Benettolo, 33. Group T4: 1. Trivini Bellini, 83; 2. Cisella, 78; 3. Tomasini, 63. Group TH: 1. Gazzetta, 83; 2. Moro, 70; 3. Traglio, 33. Finally, this is the overall team ranking: 1. R Team, 140; 2. Mrc Sport, 86; 3. Big Team Inn, 45.

The next event is the Italian Baja (June 25-27), an Italian round within the FIA Baja World Cup and European Cup (June 25-28). This event will have a coefficient of 3 and will therefore be capable of reshuffling the cards in each ranking.
