Triple-validity for the creature of the Fuoristrada Club 4x4 Pordenone, which has moved even earlier to prepare for a top-level challenge.
May 9, 2026_ Registrations are now open for the 2026 Italian Baja, organized as always by the Fuoristrada Club 4x4 Pordenone, scheduled from Wednesday, June 24th to Sunday, June 28th. A round of the FIA Baja World Cup and European Cup, the race also counts as the third event of the ACI Sport Italian Cross Country Championship, following the Artugna Race in March and the Sardegna Rally Raid, which takes place next week. The headquarters at the Pordenone Fiere has been confirmed with flying colors, with the pavilions occupied for five days by racing vehicles and support vehicles.
Wednesday, June 24th (Welcome Day) will be dedicated to welcoming the competitors, Thursday, June 25th (Scrutineering Day) will feature the crews' sporting checks and the technical checks of the vehicles, then in the evening everyone will gather in Piazza XX Settembre for the sumptuous official parade of the caravan (Ceremonial Start) and interviews with the protagonists on a spectacular stage with a giant screen. This underscores the fact that the Italian Baja, confirmed among the elite of the off-road world championship, is a top-notch sporting event capable of drawing global attention to Pordenone, Capital of Culture 2027.
On Friday, June 26th, the car test (Shakedown) will take place in the morning on the Meduna River, followed by the actual race in the afternoon with the prologue in Cordenons (start at 5:30 PM) broadcast live on ACI Sport TV, channel 228 of the Sky platform.
Saturday, June 27th, the highlight of the day, features a 160km selective sector encompassing the Meduna River, the Cosa River, and the Tagliamento River, to be run twice (starts at 8:30 AM and 2:30 PM). A neutralization interval is scheduled approximately halfway, between the Pordenone and Udine sides of the Tagliamento River, during which refueling will be available.
The awards ceremony for the Italian cross-country championship will take place in the evening.
Finally, on Sunday, June 28th, a final selective sector of nearly 100km will conclude the race, which counts towards the FIA World Cup and European Cups, with the awards ceremony at 1.30 PM at Pordenone Fiere.
