Citroen’s golden years remain unmatched, but every edition leaves an unforgettable memory
Pordenone, 24th June 2022_ Italian Baja is turning 30 next year. An important moment and, as the time goes by, more memories write a story of passion and endurance, perseverance and determination.
The story of Fuoristrada Club 4x4 Pordenone and of all competitors that challenged and keep challenging tracks by the river beds, first the Cellina-Meduna, then the Meduna, Cosa and Tagliamento, wonders of the friulian territory.
The winning record belongs to Pierre Lartigue and Michel Perin, having ruled Italian Baja for four straight editions (1994-1997) thanks to the supremacy of Citroen Zx Rally Raid, an incredible vehicle that also won four editions of the amazing Dakar.
Tree victories each for Boris Gadasin (2007, 2009, 2011) on his G-Force Proto and Nasser Al-Attiyah (2008, 2015, 2016), the first time on a Bmw X3, then with a Mini All4 Racing and a Toyota Hilux Overdrive.
Two victories for Jean Louis Schelsser (1998,2002) on his Buggys, Jakub “Kuba” Przygonski (2017, 2018) on a Mini All4 Racing then evolved into a Mini X-Raid, Yazeed Al-Rajhi (2014, 2021) loyal to his Toyota Hilux Overdrive.
